August 17, 2008     Processing and Procedural Art

Lately I’ve been doing a bit of hacking with Processing. Today I made this interesting image generator, which uses Perlin noise to generate random, symmetrical images. It’s a bit like Rorshach blots in motion, I think. And if you stare at it long enough (not that I’ve been doing that *cough*), you’re bound to see at least some nice patterns come up.

Check it out.

I’ve been increasingly interested in procedural art lately, and I hope to do more experiments along these lines.

I guess I haven’t been feeling too writative lately. I’m not sure when that’s going to change, to be honest, so this blog will continue to be updated very infrequently for the time being.
